Innovations

For

Industry

Innovations for Industry 2019 is a one day AWC event that features exhibitors from industry leading Automation, Valve, Process Control, and Instrumentation companies.

Come explore our Vendor Trade Show with products from over 25 industry leading manufacturers. Gain in-depth knowledge on products and technology by attending both Hands-On and Seminar Style trainings that will be available to all attendees.

AWC IS LEADING! As we discover the possibilities that will come as we enter the next Industrial Revolution, AWC is leading the charge. In an effort to better understand the challenges that our customers will face as they seek to implement the various stages within their digital transformation journey, AWC is installing Digital Transformation Labs in locations across the entire AWC network.

These labs will allow us to reproduce manufacturing processes and environments in order to replicate real-world challenges that exist today. By experiencing these challenges for ourselves, our team of talented engineers will be better equipped to help our customers navigate their DT journey and avoid potential pitfalls. These challenges will include cybersecurity, environmental, diagnostics, data sharing and analysis, modernization, and much more.

Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology into all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how you operate and deliver value to customers. It's also a cultural change that requires organizations to continually challenge the status quo, experiment, and get comfortable with failure.

From The Enterprise Project

According to Forbes magazine, the Top 5 Digital Transformation Trends In Manufacturing are:

1. IoT and Industry 4.0

2. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

3. Robots

4. Improved Speed and Efficiency

5. Data and Analytics

Throughout the next few issues of this newsletter we will explore solutions that address these trends. We will start this month with IOT and Industry 4.0.

Product Spotlight

Siemens/Festo
Multi-Carrier System

The Multi-Carrier-System transport solution ensures maximum flexibility in machinery. Breaking up the rigid concatenation of conventional transport routes creates new freedoms and offers maximum dynamics.

The modular concept allows a quick conversion of the machine to different formats, other product types or seasonal requirements. The integrated concept allows the control of the transport movements and motion control functionality as well as the coordination of additional machine modules.

AI: Optimizing
Industrial Operations

Whether it’s for autonomous optimization of gas turbines, improved monitoring of smart grids or predictive maintenance of industrial facilities, artificial intelligence harbors great potential for Siemens — and we are consistently making use of it. We are the leaders when it comes to the industrial application of artificial intelligence and we can offer new services that enable our customers to boost their productivity and efficiency.

iQagent
Augmented Reality

iQagent is the plant floor mobility maintenance app that recognizes equipment and displays relevant process data, schematics, forms and other resources; resolve downtime events faster through better and more efficient communication with support personnel.

- Practical Augmented Reality view of Plant Floor
- View Process Data anywhere

- Snapshot or Screen Recording

- Create and manage forms

Bionic
Workplace

Alongside serial production, there is a trend in industry towards the customisation of products. A key role when it comes to production in batch size 1, besides the digital networking of entire installations, is also played by systems capable of learning using artificial intelligence and robots that work hand in hand with humans. In the BionicWorkplace, all these requirements are combined in a future-oriented working environment.
